Best Friends Become Strangers

Its really a true blessing when someone can say that they have a real friend in their life. When you look up the definition of what a friend is :

 1) a person whom one knows and with who one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations.

People have a tendency to only be around and love you on the basis upon the condition of their needs and that kind of relationship never will last. I always said that any relationship without reciprocity will eventually die. Friendship should never be based upon what you want someone to do, giving them gifts, doing business together, and so forth. The older I get and the more I experience life, I have had people that I called my friend really walk out of my life without giving any rhyme or reason as to why. The moments when that has happen always have left me wondering what the heck did I do to make them do that because I always felt that love is unconditional and no matter what they would always be there but I've learned the hard way, and having that way of thinking that people will be in your life forever will lead to continuous and constant disappointment, based upon my expectations of what a friend should be.

I have had some moments where just a few months ago where there were some lonely nights, I cried myself to sleep, I wanted to give up, I felt like committing suicide, I had some people that I thought would be there for me in my corner just disappeared. I grieve for the only woman in the world that gave me unconditional love my amazing grandmother may God rest her soul. None of the situations or circumstances that I have encountered can define who I am; yet people will define you based upon a current situation that is a temporary circumstance. Nothing lasts forever.  From this day forward; I am being very careful who I call my friend.

God has truly been the friend that I have needed when everyone walked away he is always there, when people called me everything but my name he was there, when business deals didn't go the way  I pictured they would go, he was there, no matter what has happened in my life I put God first because he will never fail, his love for me is forever the same.

So the next time we call someone our friend make sure they really understand what the definition actually means.  They will see your experiences in life without you ever voicing what is going on because of the love they have for you. A real friend will be right by your side not just sit and pray for you, but they are there with you in your time when you need someone. When things are not going right they are there; and when things are good they are still there. A friend will show the best version of you when you cant see it for yourself. A true friend has no room for hate or will they ever be upset when you evolve in your life.

When you think of the word FRIEND just make sure you take an assessment of who is really in your circle, because we really become the five people we choose to be around.
